Welcome rat hunting enthusiasts

Sport rat detection is a rat-, dog- and human-safe version of vermin hunting, originally designed to control and eliminate rodents. The dog must find a hidden tube containing a rat and alert the handler by pointing out the cache.

Our mission

  • Promote the implementation of uniform standards and advance ratting sports as a whole
  • Encourage anyone looking for uniques activities to do with their dog to discover this new sport.
  • Allow all types of dogs to express their hunting and tracking instincts, which are generally underutilized in dailay life
  • Develop and encourage teamwork between handlers and dogs through training and trials
  • Train, qualify and certify judges to expand thr practice of ratting sports

Dogs

Ratting sports are open to all dogs, regardless of age and breed (pure or mixed)! Even dogs with behavioral or physical issues can participate!

Rat

Our rats come from working lineage and are exposed to dogs from birth in a controlled and safe environment. At 3 weeks old, they start their training in tubes. They are very comfortable and enter the tubes easily because they receive plenty of rewards!

Team

To succeed in ratting sports, you and your dog need to work as a team. You need to understand how to train them, how to read them and above all how to motivate them!
